How would I solve this correctly?

For the third answerer -
dude, it's for a math sheet that's not going to be on the exam, and we're not doing anything else on it the entire semester. Chill. -hands you some pot-

First you make them both improper fractions
-2/3 + 49/8
then you make them both have the same denominators
24 works!
-16/24 + 147/24
this equals 131/24
now you see if you can simplify
do thst yourself

Okay dude -- this is like the 3rd question in a row that follows the same type of math rules. You need to go to your teacher and ask for extra help or get a tutor or get someone to sit down with you and help you understand how to add and subtract fractions. It's really too bad that some point-whore will inevitably just spoon feed you the answer. You'll never get better at this if people keep doing your math work for you. Does your teacher know you're cheating? Do your parents know?
