Approximately one month ago the doctor told me that i had an ovarian cyst that seemed to be going away on it's own. A week later, i had a period that lasted approximately 12 days. That's VERY unusual for me. I have always had a regular cycle. The question is though, can i still get pregnant if i have unprotected sex . . . since i have a cyst.

Yes you can still get pregnant.

Cysts appear on your ovaries every month during your cycle and they assist in ovulation. Periodically, cysts do not go away and they grow to an abnormal size. Most of them go away on their own with the use of contraceptives or with your regular menstrual cycle.

Having a cyst does not mean that you are not ovulating, and as long as you are ovulating, you can become pregnant.

Yes you can get pregnant! Like the previous person said, you get "cysts" every month, they just usually go away on their own when you have your period. I have polycystic ovarian disease so I get cysts all the time, some are large and bother me others are small and I don't even know they are there, and I have two kids. So yes, you can get pregnant!

Yes. All women have cysts in some way shape or form . My doctor told me that women get a cyst , when their period is about to start.

Yes you can!
And please go to another doctor for a second opinion!
When I was 17, I had cysts on my ovaries and I nearly bled to death. It took me 3 times to the ER and 2 different doctors to figure out what was wrong.I nearly died.I ended up having to have a hysterectomy.
Please consult another doctor.
