I hooked up my hrd drive from a comp that failed, my files on it are locked- i was admin. How can i unlock?

I connected my hard drive from my old computer via a IDE to USB connection. I can access the drive fine, but my user account on the old comp was password protected. Is it possible to unlock it so I can access my files?

Install the drive as a master drive and boot from it, remove the password and reinstall as slave.
