How can I make a movie file smaller so I can burn it on a CD? and watch it on a DVD player?

You would have to burn it onto a DVD to watch it on a DVD player. I think there are a few movie shrinker type things out there, but the video might be not as good quality.

im not entirely sure if thats even possible. lets say if you were to fit it on a cd you still have to surpass the fact that your trying to watch a cd in a dvd player. its kinda like putting a v-8 engine in a geo metro, its just not gunna happen. but if you ment burn on a dvd i dont think there is a way for that either. the only thing i can think of is to compress it using an archiver but then you next problem is being able to access it with out extracting it. i recommend you either buy a dvd-r which has 4.7 gig which should be plenty or just give up. lol

Try compressing the file by using converting tools/software.
