London is a wonderful place with tons of history and interesting places to see! It is the only city that has what is called a "Green Belt," a circular set of enormous Parks, Hyde Park, Regent's Park, that surround the city. The parks were put in for the public and some contain zoos, riding trails, with huge grass areas where you can just picnic or rest. Always lots to see. Any big city has places that can be dangerous, especially at night and if you are alone. Always best to be with a buddy, or in groups of three or more.

Brixton, Harlesden, Peckham. In Harlesden, I was approached by a guy asking me for my phone, I just kept cool. Brixton, in the Borough of Lambeth, is the most dangerous I'd say. There are plenty of drug dealers, hell, I even see people injecting drugs into their arms. Just don't get involved and then no one will bother you. Just mind your own business.

There are other dangerous areas, but my motto is, if the area is poor, then crime is likely to be prevalent. I'm not really scared to visit these places, I know people from these areas. I know people who are the types to do crime, i.e. jack people. They only do it because of money, life is hard in these less affluent areas, trust me. I was surrounded by this culture nearly all my life, I forced myself not to get involved.

Just stay alert and be confident in the way you walk. If you walk like a pu$sy you are sure to get jacked. Don't bother or piss off anyone and you will be all good. It's the whole gang culture that is making London dangerous.

Don't listen to the other people who have replied, they don't know what dangerous is, they are guessing. They are probably posh gits. I was born and raised in Central London all my life, I don't live in the rich areas like Kensington, people there are probably pu$sies anyway. I know exactly what it's like being in these dangerous areas of London.

I've been to London; wasn't in this part but from what I heard it's East London.

I was mostly in the upscale Kensington area.
