well the answer is truly just a subtraction problem right. I mean 5-3=2. so two parts more or in ml you must add them together then divide by parts and then subtracts such as 720/(5+3+12) gives you the amount per part then (5*x)-(3*x)= y

Algebra..... X will be the common factor in the proportion. Add 5X, 3X and 12X to equal 720. Solve for X. Multiply the result by 5. Write it down. Multiply X by 3. Subtract what you got for 3X from what you got for 5X. That will be the difference.

5x+3x+12x=720
20x=720
x=36

5x- your red - is 180ml
3x - yellow - 108ml

so your answer is 72ml
