I would suggest that you do not use the Family Planning Method to prevent pregnancy. Use a real birth control and if you are not in a committed monogamous relationship then use a condem.
There are no such things as "safe" days.

I am a pharmacist and I teach women every day.
There are no safe days.
Semen can stay inside you for several days.
Unless you are very regular (with your menstrual cycle), you should never count as your method of birth control.
If you are very regular and you like to take chances -
14 days after the first day of your menstrual cycle is when women ovulate. You should use other methods of birth control for the three days before and after this date.

not all women ovualte on 14 days after the start of tehri cycle. I dont it s day 19. your best bed it getting the book taking charge of your fertility. It teaches you ways to naturally track your cycle with cervical mucus analisis or taking your temperature.
But as the other mentioned Sperm can last I believe up to 3 days in you waiting to fertilize an egg
Mina222 NOT All women either ovulate 14 days BEFORE their next cycle. If you actually chart your cycles you will find out. Like I mentioned I ovulated on day 19, and later found out my Leuteral phase (the time BETWEEN ovulation and the start of your next period) was 8-9 days. For implantation of an egg and the possibility to get pregnant you need a minimum of 11 days between these 2 times to get pregnant.
I need fertility medication to concieve my first child, because my natural cycle was not allowing enough time to get pregnant

There are no safe days to avoid pregnancy. And there is no way to calculate your ovulation. Every woman is different. You can do an estimate but it takes test to actually figure out.

There is no such thing as "safe days"! You can get pregnant at any time if you are having unproteced sex. Use the forms of birth control that are out there--the pill, condoms, etc. There is a word for people who practice the "safe days" method of birth control--PARENTS!

i agree with the 1st answer EXCEPT you do not ovulate 14 days from the first day of your period.. you ovulate 14 days BEFORE the first day of your next period.. in other words, count backwards, not forwards.. If you have a 28 day cycle you ovulate on day 14, a 29 day cycle , day 15, a 30 day cycle, day 16. etc.

Use a condom or go on the pill. Sperm can live for several days, so you can't accurately determine when is safe and not safe. What silly question.

Honey, please do not rely on this method for birth control. You are banking your whole future on this and it is not fool proof. Go on the pill or patch....
This method is not reliable and so many factors can screw up your cycle, stress, illness, diet, and exercise...

13 days after the first sign of blood is dangerous, and of course, any day is dangerous without protection.
