OKAY THIS TOPIC IS VERY INTERESTING TO ME AS IT WAS BROUGHT UP BY A FRIEND OF MINE, BUT CAN THERE EXIST A CONCEPT OF HAVING A "RELATIONSHIP" WITH THE SAME SEX, BUT KEEPING IT WITHOUT ACTUALY HAVING SEX? KINDA LIKE, OH IM GOING TO GO OUT WITH THIS GUY BUT WE ARENT GONNA HAVE SEX??? JUST TO GET TO KNOW THE PERSON, A RELATIONSHIP THAT IS EITHER SAME OR OPPOSITE SEX (DEPENDING ON YOUR SEXUAL PREFERENCE), MORE THAN FRIENDS, LESS THAN LOVERS.

IS THIS AN INTERESTING CONCEPT OR WHAT?

Like King David and Jonathan in the Bible...it says their souls were knit together, and they loved each other enough to die for one another, but there were no homosexual references (David had many wives).

yes it is very possible.

after seeing all the responses here, i am left wondering why when others look in on one of these relationships from the outside, it is assumed that there is sex involved. I have a friend who we are fairly close and even my close friends are convinced that there is more going on than just friends. my friend is also male but not gay. we just get on well and enjoy each others company. be is comfortable with both his and my sexuality, and my being gay is not an issue for him. He is happy to hug me, and we both know it doesnt mean anything more than friends.

I have been in a relationship for over 5 years and am happy with my man.

I think it can absoloutely happen, Just a sexless relationship. A lot of older peoples relationships become this once they reach a point, lol.

yep. it can happen. ive had very close friends who are also women (straight, bi, or gay) and even tho we dont have a sexual relationship, its still like basically having a partner, but without the shagging!

It's called "bonding." A best friend is the nearest thing I can think of that is like it.
