Well, your ex sounds like a real peach. I will never understand why men do this. Its like their trying to punish the mom,when all it says to the kid is I hate your mom more than I care whether you are provided with everything you need. Call child support everyday until they send it through to be dealt with by a judge. Maybe some jail time would smarten him up.

Sorry that happened to you!! :( Unfortunately there is not much you can do, except for watch him closely, he might get a job under the table, obviously, or hide, but he's got another thing coming if he does that.

You need to keep going to the Districts Attorney's office and have them look into it. And, alert them of what he just did, tell them he is getting a job under the table, and report him. After some time if this is the way he wants to act before his children, you can also report him to the IRS, after you have proven facts of course.

You can stil get a great career, I see many people come out of very difficult situations, I don't know where you are located, you can become a notary public and make money, it doesn't take much time, you can also work on getting your real estate license and become successful and ask this ugly man for nothing. In a very kind way I say to you get your life, get it going and straighten things out,

It depends on the state. Where I live (CA), you can simply go to a government agency that collects child support and let them know if he isn't paying. It takes a little time for them to enforce it (sometimes a few months), but when they do he'll be forced to make current payments plus pay back the payments he missed. If he refuses to comply, they'll suspend his drivers' license, any professional licenses he might have, etc. Eventually he can go to jail for non-payment.

My suggestion would be to check the county court website of whatever county you live in. They will probably be able to tell you quite a bit.

don't really know what to do except go get a lawyer, i know the courts can put out a bench warrant for him and if he doesn't pay up the court can send him to jail, my lawyer was working on a case that had that and he was preparing to send his clients ex to jail over not paying child support and the guy was only behind by like 6 months or so, not a really long time.

my ex hasn't payed in like 2.5 years already, but i am not really hurting for the money so i am not persuing it right now

That's what dead beats do! He'll tell the kids he loves them if he sees them at all, and play his little head games trying to hurt you. What some men don't understand is when a woman loves you, she loves you, and when you burn your bridges it's done. There's no going back, so if he really loves his kids he'll keep a job and do his small part by paying child support, because there's more to raising a kid than money! Plus get a lawyer, most are pro-bono on things like this if he gets a job.

All states are different, but you should get help with this. They could garnish his wages if he has a job. Some states put a lien against any money he might come into (like if he had a settlement because he was hurt in an accident, something like that). In some states you can get your license revoked. Look into your options through the state dept of welfare, or child support, etc. or ask your divorce attorney to help you.

I have a friend who lost his job right when he was asked to pay thousands per month! Then he looked and looked... he couldn't find one. He wants so bad to take care of things and so he started working to just get money to handle life. He is trying hard... I hope that your ex is really doing the best he can and not trying to avoid it. Give him the benefit of the doubt and look for a way to earn some money for youself.

Of course without neglecting what you need to do legally... but don't assume he is "out to get you" he might not be.

Take him back to court. The judge will not be happy when he/she finds out that he quit in order to not pay child support. What your ex does not realize is that just because he quit his job the amount he was ordered to pay is still accumulating so he has not only hurt his children but himself as well because now he is in arrears.

what ever it takes to enforce the court order. you will be surprised how fast he will find another job after standing in front of a judge threatening him with a jail term. i know a guy that works 3 jobs to pay his child support and support himself. i paid my child support when i didn't have any extra money. if you are not a gold digger and the child support is reasonable force him to pay it.

have to give him 30 days and then have him served if he doesnt have a job because then he is in violation of court order... gurllll damn read your court order... also if he doenst pay his portion of medical bills take him back to court... Judges hate it when people do this.... he will impose unemployment to be sent to you and make your husband go to unemployment and prove to court that he is trying to get job.... may try to lie first week but after that he's screwed cuz its work time or jail... his choice...

I personally love when the Judge threatens to put them in jail. Tells the parent will work while in jail and all the money will go to child support.... tends to get dead-beat parents out looking for a job with a quickness : P
