If I understand you grammar correctly, you are asking for an opinion regarding burning a country's flag in effigy.
I might be wrong, but I think it IS illegal in your own country to burn your flag. There are certain criteria that must be followed to dispose of a flag. ?
At any rate, if a flag is burned in effigy within ones own country, the police are usually careful about how to handle it so as not to incite a riot or further damage. In my opinion, burning a flag is unconscionable.
As far as the other part of your statement - if you are stating that if I want to burn your flag, I should do it in your backyard so that you will have a chance to burn my flag ? Not sure what you mean. Revenge is never an option and you've just stated in the very next breath that you feel it should be illegal. Why then, would you condone burning mine?
Again in my opinion, I agree, burning a flag IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY should be illegal, however burning some other country's flag in your country - well, there probably is not alot you can do about that except relay to every news agency in the world to stop broadcasting images of that.

Burning the United States flag is not illegal. The first amendment protects every citizen's right to do so if they wish. It is considered a form of freedom of speech. That doesn't mean all Americans agree with the constitution. According to an ABC/ Washington National poll in 2000, the United States is split on whether the constitution should be amended to make flag burning illegal. Joe Parish, President of Capitol Flag Company, in Austin, Texas, says flag burning is a controversial issue that has been lingering in U.S. history, since we became a country.

"At this point in time it is not illegal to do it, but I know they are trying to pass something at this point to make that illegal. It is still a part of freedom of speech

You reason for why you think it should be illegal doesn't make any sense. I agree, however, that it is a symbol that people like my uncle died for. It is just a symbol, though, and I can be bigger than the people who feel the need to burn it. They can't take my country from me. Actions often speak louder than words, so actions ARE speech. When you have, on occasion, rolled your eyes at your parents, I'm sure they were angrier than when you argued with them. That's because they action of you rolling your eyes at them, told them quite a lot.

i can see where you are coming from but i think that it should be legal because ppl don'tt just walk down the street and decide they want to burn a flag it is done with a lot of respect when a falg is getting old and begining to tear don't yout hink it is more respectful to burn it (nicely) then to just let it slowly wear away and have ppl store it and step on it and stuff!

We live in a free country, that means people in this country have the right to burn our flag, and scream and holler how they hate us, but you have the right to yell right back how much you love this country. It's a price we pay to be free.

Now people in other countries burning our flag, I say screw um. They are just mad cuz we have it so good.

i think it should be legal to do it because is freedom of speech expression. the reason why is against the law is because united states think is not patriotic and is like a hate crime. for me is why they have the first amendment right if we cant do anything for example burning the flag, stuff on TV we cant say because of kids, and we need to put religion on everything for example on all bush speeches. i am sick and tired of it. i am catholic too but i don't put my religion on number one i put my family as number one

Legal or not...I would never burn my nation's flag. But honestly why can't we move on to more important topics in this nation than constantly dwelling on flag burning...???

Let's get past it.

Where did you learn to write a sentence? I think we have things more serious to worry about than flag burning.

I think anyone who wants to burn a flag should wrap themselves in it first

Let them burn it.

It helps identify idiots who don't know how to communicate.

Usually they're trying to say something besides, "I hate the United States," but sadly for them and their message -- that's the message everybody gets.
