Any suggestions? Is it a bad thing to have on your computer or is it ok?

If atwola is a virus, most anti-viruses should remove it.
or try using spybot: http://www.spybot.com/en/download/index.html
that should remove it.

But if for some reason you are unable to remove it it that way, you can go through ur drive and manually delete it. In order to delete it you first must identify where its from. Most of the time it will be hidden so you must set the show hidden icons to on in your folder options. Unfortuantly i am not to familar with that program/virous/malware/ so it is challenging to guide you step by step on what to do.

It seems to be a advertising server. Annoying, yes but probably not harmful to your computer.

"ar.atwola.com is a server used by Time-Warner web sites (esp. cnn.com and Netscape.com) for various things. Atwola.com does not install spyware or adware -- just serves ads, promotions, and other variously annoying things related to Time-Warner online offerings."

hi, perhaps you can try norton to remove the virus and protect your PC, but you need to pay for the software.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

You need to go to control panel and click on "Add/Remove Programs". When this opens it will populate a list of installed programs. Locate it on the list and then click "Remove".
