it depends on the year model the 06 you can fit them on but you have to modify you're caliper and disk's some of the older models can also take them but you have to mod your fenders and you're wheel wells.

I recently saw an add in Sport Compact Car or Super Street about a company that made 20 series tires so subcompacts could roll on 20's. I think it's a stupid idea because there would be almost no sidewall and would ride like sh!t. But hey, if someone wants it, a company out there will make it.

It's not cool to be derogatory and rip on people for trying different things. The aftermarket wouldn't be what it is today if people didn't try new things. What would you have said to the guy in the 80's that wanted 17's instead of his 13's? Cars today that were built in the 80's are riding on 17's and 18's.

As for style, to each their own. Big wheels on sedans is the new southern thing. Not necessarily a 'black' thing.

Y would u want to put on such big rims? It wont fit. Most of the cars come with 14" and to manufacture...they recommend u go either 2 size up or down. higher should be 16" but u can get by with 18". leaving very little clearing space. It won't let u have a complete load in ur car with out it rubbin on the tires. u can raise the car to allow the 20" but that's costly. Go with a 18".

for the sake of you civic, DON'T!! it will eliminate your driving pleasure for sure. it'll be harder to spin ur front wheels with bigger rims :p and i don't think it'll be a comfy ride anyway.. 20" .. are WAY too big for civic.
i'd recommend you to use a 17" or 18" (max!), with a low-profile tyre, and get a custom shock-absorbers.
but you insist, you'll get a touring car look with that 20" (yes, you should modify the fenders and all).. or should i say an SUV look? :D but hey, the new VW Golf RS32 uses a 20" rims, right? and it still looks great..

i get tired of people wanting huge rims on a civic.
yay. you have money to buy 20inch rims. good for you.
now screw your suspension up, every time you turn too far to the right or left you make marks in your tires from scrubbing, you have such thin rubber that when you hit a pothole you bust or warp a rim which happens OFTEN and you have to buy another one, and then no one upgrades their braking system... with such centrifugal motion it takes much more force to slow down your car.... so have fun... ill laugh when you are on the side of the road needing to change a flat... oh and your spare will need to be changed as well cause you will have larger wheels... so you will end up with a tow truck :)

Hey "Dan"
How would bolting on rims destroy a cars resale value? Or for that matter, destroy the suspension? Yes, I disagree with this girl, and think 20s would look absolutely ridiculous. But why do you have throw dumb comments out like that?
If she wants to sell it, just bolt the stock wheels back on. It's not rocket science.
And the suspention is gonna travel just like it always did. It doesn't matter what outside diameter the wheel is.

Instead of worrying about wheel well modifications, better check out what type 'modified' brake calipers and pads you will need with those. They are very bad on your suspension as well. It would need to be 'beefed' up as well to handle the 'new' tires/rims.
A practically new Honda is a terrible thing to waste. Besides, if and when you trade it in or sell it, you'll have to take a big LOSS on the car's value.

sounds like too small of a rim. Civic offsets and wheels are interchangeable, until you start putting dx wheels onto ex/si models. Are you sure that you have an ex model with drum brakes in the rear?

I don't think 20's will fit your Civic. I think the wheel wells are too small. Even if they fit in the wheel well diameter, your turning radius will be reduced quite a bit with wheel scrubbing the inside of the wheel well. If you upgrade to significantly larger wheels than stock, you will also need to upgrade to larger brake disks and brake pads. Larger wheels require more effort to stop.
