I know the commercials say "Five days before your missed period" but f*ck that! How many weeks pregnant can you be when you get a positive result from a home pregnancy test? When is the earliest you can get a positive result?

No, the correct time is two weeks after you've ovulated... The same time you'd be getting a period if you have regular ones.

Uhm,, I don't believe these answers are completely correct. I was just reading how accurate at home pregnancy tests are and many women with this kind of experience mentioned that they have taken 4 tests that turned out negative AFTER their missed period and then finally took another maybe a week later and it came out positive!!! No one said anything about 5 days B4 your missed period ever working well at all.. and someone said something about not knowing until 2 months into the pregnancy.. no symptoms as others experienced.
Good luck to you either way :),

some brands claim to get a result as early as 4 days before your expected period. I know with my daughter I used the clear blue Digital test and 1 week before my period was due i got a positive result. But even when I went to get the blood work I had to return 3 days later to make sure my HCG levels were multiplying as they told me I must of thaken the test 1-2 days after implantation and my levels were so low

About 5 days before your missed period. Which would make you about 11 days pregnant, because ovulation occurs approx. 14 days before your period and that's around when fertilization occurs.

about what the commercial says...unless you go see a doc and they do a blood test...then they can tell if you have the hcg hormones in your blood...other than that about 5 days before you are supposed to have a period
