I just bought this Network adaptor from Linksys (model no. WUSB54GSC) and I'm supposed to be getting 54mbps, but instead im getting 5mbps...what is wrong with this!? how can i fix it?

No i had this other one that went 54mbps, but it broke, so i bought this new one, and its giving me 5mbps =(

Go into the setup of the adapter and adjust the speed. If there is no option, maybe that is all it will do. It may not have enough power to hit the access point.
Also, does it seem slower than the previous adapter, or are you relying on the figures given in System tray?
My previous adapter said 11 Mbps, this one says 100, no discernible difference in speed.

Hi. Is your speed over a cable? If so then 5mbps is about right. Make sure the 54mbps number is not just a maximum in the Linksys

try rebooting router
