To me, too dark is when I see girls wear really thick black or dark blue eyeliner. It makes their eyes look so small and even adds weight to their face, making them look a bit awkward.
More is less. Do very thin lines and brush a little eyeshadow in a matching color over the eyeliner for a more natural look.

your so unclear as to what you are talking about..but since its in the makeup category ill say that for eyes anything goes as far as dark colors but for lips wearing dark colors are a personal choice..they will definitely make your lips look smaller though...and i cant really imagine you testing the limits of dark on your cheeks so.....

Wear it however you like. Go as dark as you feel comfortable with.
