If you mentioned he is black what was the context. It must have been bad for him to beat you down and you came on line to let the world know black people are violent and always fight for mundane reasons. You sir are a racist and you know it. When race/looks have nothing to do with what you're talking about it is racist to mention what race someone was. To me the context matters.
"A black guy beat me up because I tried to steal his wallet" - in this case it's racist to mention what race he was.
"A black guy beat me up because I'm dating a black girl" - in this case race has something to do with what you're talking about so it's not racist to mention the race, it explains what happened.
