Geez, I don't think anyone here read your question.

If you want to know about "options," McMillan is the guru.

His first book is called Profit With Options
by Lawrence McMillan

The one McMillan himself uses and prefers is his second book:
McMillan on Options

You wanted a starter book and no one gave you one. Ok, here you go!

Options Made Easy by Guy Cohen is a great starter book. MacMillan is very bright, but most of his stuff is pretty dense.

As you read the book, use it in concert with the FREE website 888options.com (sponsored by the exchanges) where they not only tech you many of the terms and types of option trades, but have quizzes all along the way. But wait, there's more. They also give free workshops to teach the concepts as well! Just check out the website.

If you want a good options education, you can check out optionetics.com. They'll have you doing in two days what most brokers at brokerage firms don't even understand.

Hope that helps!

Options are a 'hot topic' right now, and appear to be the next get rich quick craze now that real estate is slowing. There are many books available.

I like 'Getting started in Options' by Michael C Thomsett. Its clearly written, and gives good examples to illustrate the concepts.

There is lots of free information, some in MP3 format offered by The Options Industry council at http://www.888options.com/.

I recommend "A Random Walk Down Walk Street". It's incredibly informative yet surprisingly easy to read and also quite enjoyable as well. Now in it's ninth edition, and it's as useful as ever. There's really no need to buy it though, as you can get it at your local library. Hope that helps you.

Suze Orman has some great financial books... "Road to Wealth," and "You've Earned It, Don't Lose It." You can get them from your local library... check them out. Er, um, pardon the pun.
