I noticed this phenomonon bout 5 yrs ago when BBC announcers would be off air for a while,then returned with what I dubbed the BBC "lisp". Now in U.S. & notice that some local announcers are doing the same?

The ABC newscaster who died not too long ago was very nasal. I haven't noticed it around here.
