A clearer example for the car in motion is the interchange between kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy as the car coasts up and down hills, and the conversion between kinetic energy and heat as you apply the brakes.

The sun converts matter to light and heat by thermonuclear fusion. So here, you'd need to include a mass-energy 'equivalence' by E=mc^2.

3 is wrong. The sun converts nuclear energy into light and thermal energy (heat). Chemical energy is not the same as nuclear energy.

And for 4 I would say trees convert light into chemical energy.
