You need to tell her to get her mom and her alone away from him with him not knowing where they are then tell the police, then they need to get a restraining order. My step dad did the same thing to my mom and she stayed with him for yrs after just taking the abuse, she finally got away from him but did have a problem with her stalking him so tell them to be very careful and if they have that restraining order and they see him anywhere around they need to call the police. they need to get out of that envirornment before he kills either one of them there. If he is that violent what is gonna stop him from doing it even if they dont tell.

Does the mom have anyone that she can talk to (perhaps your mom)? It is said that a woman will be abused at least 7 times before she leaves finally.
They need to make a plan......store birth certificates, car titles, spare cash, spare car keys, address/phone books, spare clothing, in a safe place away from the home, perhaps in a locker at a local bus station. They need to have everything in place before they make a move and then, when the time is right, they need to get away and head for the local sheriff or police department and tell them they have just left an abusive environment and that they are in need of immediate shelter at a domestic violence shelter and tell them of the threats that were made by the abuser so they can handle any problems that may come up at the shelter if the abuser happens to know where it is located and comes looking for them. If there is a chance that he might know where the local shelter is at, then she needs to go to another town to another shelter. She can inform the local law enforcement if he does know the location of the local shelter and they can arrange transportation for her to another shelter.
But, she needs help, so perhaps your mom can go and talk to the other mom and let her know that she knows of the abuse and that she is there to help. Sometimes it take someone coming to the mom and saying she already knows before the mom will feel safe enough to admit it and try and get help for herself and her children.

I know you have made a promise, and that must be important to you, but family abuse is not something that should be kept secret!!
You need to talk to an adult about this, or call the police! Is there anyway you can get your friend to sleep over at your place, then think up a plan? Maybe ask your parents to invite mom and daughter over and then call the cops while they are at your house. They need to get out before he does get worse and really does kill them!!
You need to get more help than you can get on yahoo.....please do, for your friends sake!!

Get them help!! Being a loyal friend but also a caring friend! Your friend and her mom need to get out of there. Nobody deserves to be beaten or abused in anyway by anyone!! If they go for help now he can be arrested. Have them go to a hospital and be checked out! The hospital will turn him in and they will be treated for what ever cuts and bruises they have. Please do the right thing and help them! I wish them and you luck!!

How old is your friend? If she is a minor you must report it. I recommend annonymously calling or writing to your local childrens services agency. Include as many details of the abuse as you can. List all the bruises you have seen on your friend, as well as any incidents you have personally witnessed. Be sure to inform childrens services of the father's threat to kill your friend and her mother if she tells anyone about the abuse. Again, be as detailed as you can be when you call or write.

Wow, touchy subject! It's great your friend was able to confide in you, kudos to you for being such a good friend. I know you don't want to lose your friend but I think you should report this. She likely will be upset with you for "betraying" her trust but her safety is more important. Do you have a good relationship with your parents? Could you ask them for advice? What about a couselor at school? It sucks she's in that situation but what sucks more is that she confided in you but expects you to keep it to yourself. That wasn't fair for her to do. I think maybe she told you because in a way she does want you to tell. Please be careful whatever you do, you don't want to make things worse for her. Maybe your parents could talk to her mom or something. She should not allow the abuse to happen, she's not setting any good examples for your friend, she's not respecting herself and your friend will not learn anything good from all this. I think you should tell someone, your parents, a counselor, a trusted adult, someone, anyone you trust to help! Good luck.

With the rate which he's going he will eventually kill them, no doubt about that. So it would be very wise of you to share this with the officials so that they can come up with n idea which will stopp that freaking man and also prevent your friend and her mum from any further abuse.
Remember, they are too scared to do anything so ball lies in your cot. All the best.

Personally you can't do anything unless you're there when he hits her.
However your friend can always call the police anonymously. She can also tell an adult friend of the family....they may be able to talk some sense into the mother.
You're heart is in the right place but you can't don't anything.

That man is a coward. Your friend will be emotionally scar forever if he doesn't kill them first .You could report it anonymously and explain that he's threat their lives and everything she's told you. Even if she gets upset at you, you are only being a true friend by trying to help her and that takes a lot of courage, good luck!

You need to TELL someone, ANYONE that will listen to you and take you seriously. This should not be going on and she told you because she needs help and she is asking you to help her! She may not have said it in those words but any kind of abuse should not be tolerated and should be reported!
