I think Romario is absolutely amazing. I had the priveledge of seeing him LIVE. We drove two hours to Los Angeles to go watch the game. It was in November of 2004, and it was the Brazilian National Team of 1994 versus the Mexican National Team of 1994. I got to see many great players that day, such as the Brasilian goalkeeper Taffarel, their captain, Dunga, the coach back then and the one who led the disgrace of 2006, Carlos Alberto Parreira, Branco, Jorginho, Mauro da Silva, Ricardo Rocha, Zinho, Aldair, Bebeto, and Marcio Santos. Those were the 11 playing. Brasil's Romario and Mexico's Jorge Campos (their goalkeeper) were both retiring that day (supposedly). So, at the end of the game, the score was 2-1, in favor of Brasil. Romario scored both goals. Then, when it was like 10 minutes 'till the end of the game, he ran around the arena with the Brazilian flag in the air making his final exit. Tears were streaming down his face. A month later, he was already back playing. I'll never forget that moment...he's absolutely phenomenal, and I think he will succeed with his 1,000 goals.

Romario, what can i say he was a monster striker back when he was playing for the national team, and if it's one his goals to score a 1,000, then more power to him, cause not to many people can say playing professional football, that they achieved a feat like that, an for him being his age and still scoring goals is amazing, he's almost there, and i hope he does it.....

those different relievers have been super, yet Rivera ought to be the final ever. a pair of them palms, Gossage, and Sutter, for many of his profession, pitched distinctive innings for saves, which hardly achieved anymore. Rivera is a one-inning guy now, yet until eventually the previous couple of years might often pitch greater suitable than one inning, and an incredible type of his saves are 2-innings. an incredible type of human beings forget approximately that he grew to become into pitching in his 2nd inning in pastime 7 of the 2001 worldwide series while he grew to become into crushed with the aid of Luis Gonazlez, whom i've got self belief he had struck out the inning earlier. Rivera's saves record heavily isn't touched for an prolonged time, if ever. the only guy who has a sensible threat today may well be Craig Kimbrel, who's 25 and has a hundred and fifteen saves, yet he might want 523 just to catch Rivera, in spite of if Mo retired today--and in user-friendly terms 2 men in historic previous have even reached 500 saves, Rivera and Trevor Hoffman. So, the Rivera's record would be broken easily interior the subsequent two decades and numerous different pitchers will attain 500 saves? extremely? that's some crystal ball you have there. Any fan with trouble-free experience is familiar with that relievers oftentimes have up-and-down careers. some men have a reliable start up, then flame out (like Francisco Rodriguez), some men have some stable years, then lose their stuff (Heath Bell), and a few relievers are journeyman who've one stable 365 days, then come go into opposite to earth (Fernando Rodney). I used Kimbrel as an occasion, because of the fact he might have the final threat--yet he ought to basic 50 saves for the subsequent 10 years, which he won't, and he might nevertheless be wanting Rivera. you're making it sound as though that's trouble-free to pitch in user-friendly terms one inning, yet relievers pitch an incredible type of video games, heat up in others the place they do no longer are available in, and no one has prepare as many super years as Rivera. i assume you have been touching on my answer and that i did no longer say no one might ruin it, yet that it will be an prolonged time earlier somebody does, in the event that they ever do.

Did you catch the USL playoff game in Miami he played in vs. the Whitecaps? There was no one there. The USL is a joke and Rmario shoudl habg it up. How can you count goals scored in this lower div. league as being the equal of one she scored at a higher level? Not that he scores anymore at all.

While he played in Brazil his team would set up games as many friendly's as they could with teams from lower divisions just to stack up his goal scoring totals, sure he scored many great goals in his carreer but doing something like that to me that doesn't merit any special recognition, I still tip my cap to him for all the other ones he's scored, but those that he scored in those friendly games should not count in my eyes

I personally didn't like his ego, but this is a great accomplishment,
For those who talk crap about him, I would like to see your national heroes (Rooney? Ha!! Or will it be Luca Toni for others) to make that record.
