Lol...I have never heard of the hump on your back thing before, but I don't think it does.
I do not like the Depo shot what so ever! I had it after I gave birth to my son and my first period lasted for 26 days! After that I didn't have a period for over a year. It really messed with my body.

Well, I was going to say that no, Depo won't cause you to have a hump, but after thinking about it, it's actually possible. Depo causes calcium deficiencies, which may or may not lead to osteoperosis, which generally causes humps. So in a roundabout way, Depo CAN cause a hump, but it won't be for years and years to come. lol. You're not going to suddenly sprout a hump after you get the shot three or four times.
I didn't have any problems with the Depo. No weight gain and it actually STOPPED my mood swings. o.O I guess I'm the only one. I've been off it for about three months now and am very angry and emotional all the time. As for people getting pregnant on Depo, I know there are people who have, but I've never met any. =)

.The Depo-Provera shot is actually used as a horse tranquilizer. I am serious. I had the shot when I was 30 years old, and it isnt good for you. It will make you gain wait. the u wont have your period 1 month then u will have it real heavy. Its not worth it putting your body through these things. The best thing to take that u wont have to worry too much about is the pill. I have tried all of them. The pill is 99% effective. I couldnt take the pill anymore after 30 years old because I smoke, so I took the Depo shot. Dont take it. You will regret it. Good luck.!!!

I have been on and of the Depo shot for the past two or three years because of some problems and just dislikes I've had about it. I got it because you don't have to take a pill everyday and because it stopped my periods all together and I hate having periods. The first time I was on it....after I had my third shot (9 months of being on the shot) I started bleeding like I was on my period. It was a little more than what you'd call spotting, but not enough to say it was a full blown period. And I bled like that for 3 weeks straight until I went to the doctor and the woman tried to tell me it was normal! It's not normal to bleed all the time like that! Anyways, I bled for five weeks before I got back on the pills which stopped the bleeding. Then I eventually went back to depo and after being on it for about 9 months, I started bleeding the same way again.
This is not to say that you will have this problem, but depo is obviously not for me. I just got off the shot again because it caused me to gain about 30 pounds and I didn't like that either.

I have never heard of the hump before, but I have been on the shot and I hated it. I was so moody for the first bit it was crazy and the second time I got the shot I stayed on my period the entire three months. I was so miserable, it was insane. I however, didnt get pregnant on it, but I would rather go with the pill or try the patch.

I think that it just depends on your body. I got the shot in 2001 and was on it for a year...I never had a period. Then I got the shot at the beginning of this year and had a period for a month and a half. It was light but annoying, but did eventually stop. I got my second shot in March and so far no sign of aunt flo, but it could still come. My doctor said that some people have their period, some are light and some are extremly heavy. And some people don't have a period at all. Hope this helps.

Those shots are so strong, I don't know of anyone that got pregnant on it; actually--everyone I know that took it was not able to conceive for years after getting off it! I've never heard of humps on the back. Sounds like someone is pulling your leg. But I took depo years ago, and gained 40 lbs. within 6mos. of getting on it....made me eat like a freakin horse!! I got off of it after a couple years, and guess what? I lost 40 lbs. within 3mos of quitting the shots!! If only I'd known!! I personally wouldn't recommend the shot to anyone. Horrible side effects besides weight gain, like moodiness, hot flashes, irregularity. hope my info and experience helps
