My best friend is 32 weeks pregnant and just called me and told me her doctor told her at her appointment today she was dilated to one. She's sending her to the hospital to be monitored. She isn't having contractions yet. Has anyone else had this experience??

I went into early labor and dilated with both of my children, it just requires a little extra monitoring. Make sure that your friend is monitoring her contractions if she starts to have them, also make sure to note back pain, lower back can signal labor as well. She should just take it easy and she should be fine.

I was dilated 4CM for 3 weeks!! Even though they kept telling me "any day now"...I waited and waited. When I finally did go into labor, my water didn't even break...Once they broke it, I went from 5 CM to 10 in about 20 minutes. So, although I'm not a doctor, I'm pretty sure the water breaking is far more of an accurate timing than the dilation.

BTW...My son was born to full term and was beautiful & healthy. I wish the same for your friend!!

Yes! but not quite that early. I was dilated to 3 at 36 weeks and stayed that way until I delivered at 44 weeks!!!! Talk about miserable. LOL As long as she isn't having contractions she should be fine.
