My father, but its very different then the relationship i have with my mother..

My father had custody of me when my mom left us.. and my father is my everything, he's the only man on the face of this earth that has never let me down, and he's the only person thats always been there for me when i needed them... alot of people say this about their fathers, but My dad is the best dad anyone could ever ask for.. and id put him up against any man in comparison.. he is nothing like your typical man.. and ive never met anyone that has come in contact with my father that didnt respect him.. And no one can come between me and my father.

My mother, although i love her, i have zero respect for her other then the fact that she is my mother, she is more like a best friend then an actual mother.. so i can talk to her about everything, while i watch what i say to my dad, he's die if he knew half of the things i tell my mom..

My mother for sure!! My parents had a horrible marriage pretty much from the start. They were married I think 13 or 14 years. The only thing that kept them together that long was he worked out of town a lot. He was an alcoholic who was clean for about 5 or 6 years, but then we moved and he started drinking again. My mom put up with it for about 5 more years and finally they divorced. It's the best thing my mom ever did. I have not talked to my dad in almost 6 years. I have two kids who he does not have a relationship with. He saw my son when he was 2 weeks old and that was the last time. My son is now 5 and my daughter is 2. It's very sad that he cannot be a grandfather to them. But my children have lots of loving grandparents and I do not want them around him when he is drinking (he can get mean).

My mom and I have been through a lot together and we are the best of friends. She is now married again and happy!!

Well, my father died when I was 5 months old, which means I never met him and wouldn't remember if I did. My mom says he had lots of flaws and made her feel really bad, which makes me think he sucked as a person, but still... I probably have a better relationship with my father, because even a non-existant relationship is better than the one I have with my mother.

that depends on what I am talking about with my parents. I am about to be 41 and my dad and mom are still with us My mom has a side I may need to talk to and my dad has a side I need...

It is great to be old enough to recognize that my parents were right all this time. AND they are still around for me to tell them....

My mother. We are like best friends. I don't know my real dad and he hasn't tried to get in touch with me and my step-dad makes me angry and it seems like his family don't even like me. They stopped talking to me when he divorced my mom so I don't waste my time.

my parents were quite strict as we were growing up but then they were able to talk about anything, my mam died a few years ago but my dad who died a few week ago was great we could say ANYTHING to him we had a lot of laughs he was more open. funny, interesting, spoke his mind, called a spade a spade. but my dad was allways the easiest one to talk to, as my mam was the boss. she NEVER said wait till your dad gets home. things were dealt with as they happened. BUT i loved them BOTH dearly.
