how do u make a potato cannon?

this needs to be with easy to find materials found around the house. also, can anyone either show me a video or describe in detail how to make the diet coke and mentos reaction work? thanx

There is a kick a** book called "backyard ballistics". There is a really nice potato canon that I've built before. It involves using PVC pipe. It might not be what you want, but it is still a neat book.
