I think Yahoo answers is a suberb context full of variety and interest in wideranging subject matter and interesting opinion..Marred on occasion by immature remarks and statements at times(I have also been guilty of this on occasions when I first started). I suppose that that is always going to be unnavoidable.

A bit of a let down for me is I feel that there is a clash of cultures with Yahoo American standards..which are different to UK standards ie simple language usage.

Example:- A question last week was removed because the asker inserted the word b*ggery (I cannot complete the word or this answer will be removed). Now whilst this word can be construed as not a particularly pleasant word.. it is a genuine word with a definitive meaning..not acceptable in American culture but somewhat acceptable in UK culture. The word I may add may be acceptable but the actions associated with it may well not be.

Example:- A person asked a question why are the Scots mean?
I am a Scot and do not find this question insulting or demeaning..rather I would have had fun with this question as many of my brother Scots would have.As it is a well known fact that out of the four nations on our island the Scots give a bigger percentage to charity than any of the other four nations. I really wish they had left this question on. This shows that the difference between American culture and society is a wide gulf from our culture and society in the UK.

Yahoo have a huge burden in policeing this site and I commend them on their efforts hopefully one day they will get it right so that we all can continue enjoying what I believe is a tremendously valuable site.

My score a resounding 10 out 10.

It's OK - maybe a 6 out of 10. But I just wish we didn't have to suffer having all these damn Yanks with their fake sincerity. Why can't they stick to their own site???

A majority of the questions that I have answered can be found if the asker used Yahoo! Search. I give it a 5.
