I am 6 in a half months pregnant and I have been having really bad problems with my hips. When I sit down lay down or even stand up they pop really bad. I do my stretches that the doctor tells me to do but it just sends pain thru my back. And it hurts just as bad. Is this normal or could there be something wrong???????

It's fairly normal especially if this is your first pregnancy. During pregnancy your body produces a hormone called relaxin and it loosens everything up in preparation for the birth of your child. The pain on the lower sides of your stomach are the round ligaments loosening and stretching. Have you noticed your feet getting wider? Relaxin at work again.

Sounds normal to me! Ahhhhh....the joys of pregnancy! That happened w/both my pg's. I walked like a 70yr old w/arthritis! Just wait til you put on those last pounds in the next couple months. I feel for you! But yes, those are normal symptoms. Only some women are lucky enough to be as healthy as olympic medalist while they're pg.!! Best wishes

i think it is normal, if i understand what you are asking. i did that with my 1st one and the doctor told me then that is was my pelvic bone like pulling apart to perpare my body for birth. ( a womens pelvic bones pull apart to give the baby room to move threw for birth ) the only thing i knew that helped out was laying a hot ( not burning hot ) towel over my hips.

Separated pubic symphysis
The left and right bones of your pelvic girdle are joined at the front by a narrow section of cartilage and ligament. This is called the pubic symphysis, or symphysis pubis. As the pelvic bones loosen during pregnancy, the pubic symphysis can temporarily separate. Although this is not a dangerous condition, it can be painful.

You can feel the pubic symphysis by pressing on your lower front pelvic bone, just above your genital area. Your health professional can tell when it is separated or misaligned simply by pressing on it. During pregnancy and after childbirth, you can realign your pubic symphysis by lying back on your elbows and squeezing a pillow between your raised knees. This is likely to temporarily relieve pain and pressure.

see a physiotherapist. They are more knowledgable about such aches and pains, and will give you stretches and exercises.
