It is WWE now, but answering your question, I think 99% of it is fake but there is that 1% that is real where they do hurt each other and get angry enough to harm someone.

It's not real in that the outcome is pre-determined. Punches are really open-handed chops, kicks are pulled so they don't really hurt that much. Other, more advanced moves are executed so they inflict as little damage as possible, but there's only so much you can do when you're flying from the top rope onto another human being.

That being said, sometimes wrestlers engage in what's called a "shoot." Which is when they get carried away and hit for reals. Some guys have done this to be jerks. Sometimes it's done as a rookie hazing, to "welcome" him to the game and whatnot.

When they bleed, more often than not it's through blading. After someone gets hit in the head with a chair, you'll see the person drop to the ground and put their hands to their head, looking like they are trying to compress the pain, like any of us do when we're hit in the head. Really, though, they are using a concealed blade to cut themselves. Other times, they allow other wrestlers to really hit them with their knuckles to open up a wound.

All things considered, even though the outcomes are pre-determined, the wrestlers go through hell to entertain us.

It's the WWE now (World Wrestling Entertainment), as they had to officially acknowledge that it's not real. It was formerly known as World Wrestling Federation.

But damn it's SO MUCH FUN to watch. I tell my wife it's like a man's soap opera. It's all fake, different arch enemy every couple of weeks, alliances are made and broken at the same rate. There's just no one sleeping with anyone else.

And think if those hits WERE real? OH MAN! That's too much fun! :)

I like to refer to WWE as "cheoreographed combat."
Although the outcomes are already known by all the players involved, and it is very scripted, the action and injuries can
become very real. It all has to do with timing. If the timing of a move is right on, the move will look very explosive and damaging,
and will not likely result in injury. However, if the timing is off, and
the wrestlers are not in sinc, the move not only looks fake, but has more potential for injury. I used to wrestle for NAW on the west coast in 1998.

No, the pain is real, but the match results are fixed. If your ever curious abou the history of pro wrestling and how it changed from a real sport to a fake event then A&E has a good ducumentary about it although I forget the title of it.

No, wrestlers back in the 80's where much better actors than todays wrestlers. Wrestlers wanted to do anything to give an awesome show FOR the fans! I miss that era so much!

wrestling is about 50% real. the matches are predetermined, as to who the winner will be and most of the match is coreographed but come on you watch the wwe and you know that most of those things must hurt like hell.

You on the cookie? Wrestling is fake. It's as queer as a $3 Bill, like you. WWF is extinct. Bet you don't even know why.
