After the first of the year Walmart is doing away with layaway. If this effects anyone then go to www.walmart.com and send them an email. Under feed back at the bottom of the page, if they see how it is going to effect them by us having to shop other store that have layaway for like christmas or school clothes etc. then maybe we can change there mind. I am putting this under familys cause that who i think it will effect worse.

You should watch the movie Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices and you would probably stop shopping at walmart period. I think if you have to put it on layaway it's because you don't have the money and when you pick it up you ask yourself why did you put it on layaway anyway. Staffers at walmart steal what you put on layaway for themselves, (bikes, popular toys, so on and so forth anything that can't fit in that bleach box) and the layaways are never staffed, they are just too slow and don't ever put anything on layaway at Christmas time. You could wait an hour to get your layaway. I quit layaway at walmart long ago. just too frustrating.

I know that everyone is talking about the layaway program ending at walmart. I am an employee there and I can tell you that we were told that they were stopping to layaway due to the decline of the amound of people that use it. Emailing the home office won't do you any good. We have known for months and they told us there's nothing they can do about it.

ok well thank you for the information....i know that walmart is going open on their opinion that it is ok for gay and homosexual marriages....and lesbian rights and such...i think this is two big mistakes they are making...i am sure they made a good deal of their sells by lay a way plan.....and you are right it will effect families worse cause they put things on lay a way for christmas and different presents they need to buy...i guess this will be in all states...i have a niece that works at walmart in missouri and i will ask her why they are doing this.....

I am sure they are going to see alot more shoplifting now. I think this is a crock. That is how I and most people I know get christmas and back to school stuff for our kids. I bet old sam Walton is rolling in his grave now

Yes,,,I work at Wal-Mart and the last day to pick up any lay_a_way will be Dec.5th. There will be no Christmas lay_a_ways.
