how old are you? I'm 40 and I just started with the green vein thing. It's sad & it sucks. I hate looking at young girls hands now.

How prominent is "prominent?" Heck, yes, I have veins that stick out. You can see where they are (yes, they're green like yours) and some actually do stick out above the flesh.

I'd guess it's genetic. Do the women in your family have this? (Now that you've asked, I'm going to go look at Mom's hands, LOL!) Or do you lift weights. I do and maybe that's why those veins stick out.

I never gave it much thought. Now I'm curious as to why you and I have this.

But they're NOT the same as variose veins. They're more like what my weightlifting pal has all over his arms. The veins up and down his arm stick out. I'm thinking it's because we have no fat in our hands to hide our veins and we're well-hydrated. I always drink lots of liquids so I don't get dehydrated.

My veins are very prominent, all over my body. My veins are always purple and blue. Don't worry, you're fine! you most likely have fair skin... but a lot of other women do as well. : )

I dont, but my mother does. She doesn't have green viens in her hands, but in her leg she does.
Those are called Varicose veins and that means that the vien is dead.
