Your Exactly right. There are people out there who want the Terroist to have ALL the rights they need to pull off yet another 911 attack on America. Just remember we still have Final say. Vote there @sses out come November.

The point of this is not to give more rights to the terrorists, but to those that were arrested as terrorists (but aren't actually terrorists, just the victims of bad intelligence). The idea is that if they see the evidence against them (and they happen to be innocent), they can then properly defend themselves. Do you want to answer to God as to why you supported torturing an innocent person? Why you didn't say anything when one of his children was punished for something they didn't do? This new legislation is an attempt to correct that while still catching actual terrorists. So I agree, what is this country coming to when we are so afraid we will allow innocents to be tortured out of fear for ourselves? That we would give up our souls to save our lives. The Bible itself says that those who try to save their lives at the expense of their souls (especially out of fear) will lose both soul and life. Here is the practical application of that principle, don't fail now because of fear.

Ok, one that I do not agree with the good Dr. on. It is mostly about human rights, maybe being being questioned by a woman is not torture to you. (although now that I know your orientation, maybe it is. LOL) It his about showing respect to fellow humans. Some things are just just across the line. They talked on the news tonight of how the CIA was using some sort of water torture to where the person thinks he is going to drown. This I think is across the line. No matter how bad it gets or how bad the enemy gets when we lower our standards to theirs we have lost. We lose respect for ourselves and the world loses respect for us also. With the attack on Iraq we are at an all time low in both departments already.

No we don't give more rights to people who want to kill us.
Just because you haven't needed to rely upon most of the rights you have doesn't mean you don't have them.
And the country is slowly (or quickly, depending on who you ask) descending into fascism, as the Constitution and the rule of law means less and less each year.

This country has forsaken it's people and their voice. Meaning it is not strong because of us it is weak because of them. I am on tonight!
