My ex wife stole my son from me. She makes up her mind to go and there is nothing a man can do about it. And to add insult to injury, the courts say I get to pay. She gets paid but with no stipulation that she has to be a good parent. Nope she's a woman she gets money. I've gotten to see him grow up from a distance, traveled all around trying to be a part of his life and Yes I've made a difference. But it shouldn't be that hard for a father to be a father. I know when he and I get older and the Holidays come around...my house won't be high on his priority list. Not because I'm a bad guy, but because it's not his life. Of all the things I want for him, it's the oppurtunity to be a dad. It probably won't happen though. You look at all the brain dead talk shows on TV (directed at women because they are home at that time) and all a father can be is a paycheck. If he's not then he's a deadbeat dad...even though jobs are hard to come by and older males are the most overlooked lots of times. It would be nice if women were given more responsibility for getting the child to the father, for providing financially for the child when they're with the dad or if they take off...make them earn it!!! It was bad enough that I was working and she was sleeping around, but the courts act like she's the best parent. No wonder this country is having problems. OK...I'm done now...thanks for letting me vent. That's how I've been violated.

Someone I was in a past relationship with violated me by destroying my trust. The cheating and lying devastated me because this was someone I was totally in love with and never thought would cheat, much less cheat with someone who was supposed to be our mutual "friend." Then instead of admitting to the wrongs this person tried to "demonize" me and make me the bad guy by focusing on what I lacked and what I didn't do or should have done in the relationship. Even in couple's counseling the therapist told my then partner - "She needs to hear the truth from you." To which this person gets up dramatically and in true Jack Nicholson style says "She can't handle the truth!!" Then walks out... whew!

This whole time in my life made my esteem fall to an all-time low and made me very suspicious of people's motives. It was almost as if I turned into somebody even I didn't know, and it took a long time before I could trust or even wanted to trust someone or be in a relationship again. It took me a long time to figure out what my lesson was in all of this and what I needed to do as far as being in a relationship, communication, expectations etc.

I think being betrayed and having your trust violated is one of the worst things that can happen to a person.

Yeah, a few times! Too drunk to know why! Don't talk about smoking, or other conversational subjects. You will be violated!

Yes, my house was burglarized when I was 14 and again when I was 16. The 2nd time they DESTROYED the house with everything in the fridge and we seemed to have a lot of eggs, the day after Christmas 1987.
