It would not make sense considering Hester "earned" her scarlet letter by cheating on her husband. A scarlet letter denoted somebody who replaced into an adulterer so it would not prepare in any respect to Juliet. She replaced into in all probability purely searching for a lyric to in effective condition into the music and the words in effective condition despite if the meaning did no longer.

Absolute classic!

Well written and been made into a few movies-that are nowhere near as good!

Amazing how society has changed over the many decades!
Can you imagine if the "A" had to be worn in the present??!?
It would be hard to find anybody without it!!

I really loved that book. A great classic, I'm glad it's required reading in some schools.

O.O Wow! That comment above me is cool!

But yup, I highly enjoyed "The Scarlet Letter." It makes me realize how glad I am I don't live in a society that is THAT puritan.

Perhaps one of my favorites. I also played Rev. Dimmsdale in my college production of the show. It was absolutely the most emotionally demanding role I have portrayed to date. I recommend this reading to all.
