I'm nothing special, I'm just an average guy. I'm not lazy, I respect and love my wife, I work hard and make decent money that provides for the two of us. My problem is that my wife has issues with traits that I have that are very typical for guys. I'm not a metrosexual, I don't talk a lot, especially about feelings and emotions, I forget little things a lot, which I hate but I still do anyway. I don't get so serious about life stuff. All of these things makes my wife frustrated. WHY?
I don't get frustrated that she is always emotional. She holds on to things I've said in the past so we can argue about them all over again. She needs to go shopping. I get past these things and move on. Why can't she do this and is this typical for most women?

There is a difference between men and women. Men usually can just brush things off but women are more emotional and have a tendency holding grudges because men don't listen or pay attention. Women are more attuned with their emotions and we express more then men. Our feelings get hurt more and we get frustrated with men not paying attention or listening or helping out with daily functions. Men seem to take things for granted. Women just want to feel appreciated from time to time it is the little things that makes us happy. Try doing things without being told, tell her you love her more, take the kids out and give her an afternoon to herself. Pick up your shirt off of the floor and put into the hamper from time to time. These things will make your wife happy and if your wife is happy then you will be happy.

It can get frustrating, especially if there are communication problems. In my marriage, my husband will do the "typical male thing" and although I understand where he's coming from, sometimes it gets irritating, especially when I remind him to do something, even going as far as leaving a reminer note on the door in plain sight and he still forgets it. It makes me feel like he's not giving importance to what I'm saying.

Yes, this typical for most women. My wife has finally decided that most of my behaviors that drive her nuts are really normal male traits. Reruns of the TV show Raymond help her realize this.

I think so. I was really surprised to find out the my second husband has some of those uniquely male traits that my first husband had. I can only conclude that you all share these traits.

Gee, you sound as if you are perfectly normal. Just try to be a little more aware of her feelings, try to remember important dates and support her when she needs it instead of watching the game. If you put her first in all things, and she does the same for you, you should have smoother sailing. Just remember to acknowledge her when she is speaking and listen attentively. It ain't that hard, but gives you so much in return. Try it!
Best wishes

Because she is afraid that another woman will have a stronger connection with you, if your connection with her isn't strong.

Plus, if you don't have a good grip on her heart, another man can invade that territory by making your wife feel like she has a strong connection with him.

All in all, your wife is right to want to bond with you. It is what she desires... you might want to pay attention.
