All the time. If you stop evaluating your life, how will you ever improve it? Even if you got everything you want, it's a good way to keep your ego in check.

Use too. Not anymore. I have found life's too short to compare and evaluate why where and who. I have come to the conclusion
I am just as good if not better than most, and enjoy what the good lord and this life has bestowed upon me.
The more money you have the worst it gets. Those who have
it are probably the most unhappiest of all.
Particularly where there own family life is concerned.
Take a look at some of these high society people and Hollywood.
Simple is as is simple does.

Of course we all do it wheither we realize it or not.
I know that I do. Lets see got married at 23, had my son at
24, Not to mention having my husband leave me for a year to go
to Iraq 6 months after getting married ( that was hard!)
umm, 26 finding out I am pregnant again, And I am 27 too and
now I will be having this baby in December and no I did not finish college, I want to soo bad but now is not the time. I have a 2 1/2 year old that has special needs and with baby # 2 I will just wait till its the right time. I am always comparing myself to my friends but you know what? Its human nature and its just the cycle of life, of comparing each of us to others our age. To see how far others are, how much money, who they are married to, what kind of car they drive.

All the time. Especially when a wife and children are involved. In my situation I constantly think about bettering their lives. But a person has to think about other things then financial matters. For example do I have to work seven days a week to gain financially, or would five days a week benefit my family more as spending time with them? Sometimes a person has to not let a job be their number one priority. Family comes first before any job.

Point taken.
Absolutely, whenever a birthday draws near, lol. I'd still ask myself the same questions regardless on any other day.
It's a normal process one goes through.
Kinda like a reminder or a "list" to keep check of where you're at in your life at the moment.

buddy, we are so in the same boat.
but the difference for me is that i find myself feeling down after all that comparison. i think its because when we were younger we always believed and dreamed and hoped,. and when we reach this age, im 27 too, born 1979, we find that reality is very different. so we are equal parts dissapointed, and also envious of our more successful peers.
hmmmm....if u have friends, family or a girlfriend then consider yourself lucky man. i got nothing. and at 27, i have failed at life.
hope u are doing better.

The older you get the smarter and more in tune with life you are. When you're a kid, all you care about is playing, eating, not wanting to go to school, and growing up. When you become an adult, you realize that life is important and you try to find your place in the world.

I think you tend to go through this at your age and until you're in your late thirties. Then people become more at ease with who they are instead of what they are. By the time you're in your 50's you say, "hey, I'm happy with who I am" and are more at peace. We still evaluate ourselves but in a more self appreciating way.

Yes, I do the same bit. It is most likely fairly common.
I do not compare myself to people I know (I compare myself to very successful people).
Try to keep in mind that it is the journey, not the destination.
Since you are paying attention, you are most likely doing great!
Keep up the good work!
