Women's clothing comes in a kazillion different sizes, but mens clothing comes in S,M,L,2X, 3X.. Where mens clothing is concerned,it seems like designers take one pattern , and depending on the size, they either increase or decrease every dimention of the pattern. Why do they do that?
If my waist size increases 3 inches, my legs don't automatically grow 3 inches. If I gain weight, how do I get slacks, for example, with a waist that fits, but doesn't have the crotch down around my knees?

the reason why they do that is cause women , typically, add to their closets on a regular basis, while men don't.
that makes shopping very different for the two sexes.

women's sizes are every shape and size cause we're impatient.if we had to wait for a tailor to come and attend to us, we'd just leave.
but men are different.
if u are considering buying nice clothes, i would go with a tailor if your a guy.
it might cost more, but u can guarantee they will be a good fit.

now u know u a lie cuz woman's clothes come in sizes 0 through avg 13 then turn to plus sizes mens come in 28/28 30/30 32/30 32/32 34/30 34/32 34/34 34/36 36/34 36/36 38/36 38/38 ect.

so basically u get a shorter leg with a bigger waist - we either fit ours or we dont

Hey and dont fret,
We are all as you realize different dimensions. Finding the right store that carries the sizes that are most accurate is a must. Goody`s is one I like, due to finding the 33 length inseam I like at times verses the 34 inch that at times is to long in certain name brands. Moe Levi`s a store here in Columbia SC has a vast selection of jeans etc in every imaginable size for men. Take care

Well, I don't know where you are, but in the UK trousers come in various waist sizes and different leg lengths. Jeans, however, seem to not have so many leg lengths (one is supposed either to turn them up or cut them off, I imagine).

Since people in the North of the UK seem to be shorter than those in the South, I often find I can easily find trousers to fit me up North where I have trouble down here!
