Its just a standered CD burner that comes with dell computers. I was thinking about buying a movie from itunes and burning a DVD if possible. So I should also ask, does anyone know if you can burn the itunes movies onto DVDs? And do I need special DVD disks to burn onto?

Thanks in Advance.

Unfortunately, you need DVD burner and DVD disks. If you are uncomfortable with installing a DVD burner, there are external ones that work quite well.

NO, you can't burn a DVD in a standard CD burner. You have to have a DVD burner, and the correct form of DVD media for that drive. You can install a DVD burner in your computer, provided your computer has the proper style interface.

You cannot, two different formats. Your cd-rw drive won't even read a DVD. A dvd -/+rw drive will read and write to a cd-rw. I don't fool with iTunes, but I don't think that special dvd is the answer. It is really time to upgrade. I have a DVD-Rom and DVD -/+RW on my desktop. The price of DVD writers may really drop once the format wars (Blu-Ray and HD-DVD) are over.

that isn't be the case. There are "blend" drives, which capacity they are in a position to durn CD's besides as examine DVDs. So purchasers would not would desire to purchase seperate drives to examine DVD's. although, DVD burners would desire to examine and burn the two CD's and DVD's. in case you have Nero Burning application put in, it may hit upon what form of medium (CD or DVD) apersistent would desire to burn onto.

No.

You can make cdv's, but the quality stinks and the software is out there. The movies end up looking like a 3rd generation vhs movie and you don't have the ability to have scene selection, etc...
