- More lawyers than Doctors

- It's always someone else's fault, and usually, the richer you are or more insurance you have, the more at fault you are.

- More lawyers than we know what to do with

- Those commercials are always on when our lowest wage earners and those with "disabilities" are at home in front of the idiot box stuffing their face with more cheesy poofs. (during the day, late at night)

- We also got a lot of lawyers working at McDonalds and
Starbucks, cuz we got too many of the sleazy fvckers and they can't all find work....so they get on tv and chase ambulances to drum up business!!!

There are so many "lawyer" commercials on American television because the American economic system is based on the principle of "free enterprise". This means (in theory) that an entrepreneur is rewarded in direct proportion to the effort he puts into his business. Therefore (supposedly) by making more people aware of his enterprise, he will increase his share of the market. In my area of the United States, we are bombarded with Trade School and Car Insurance ads during the daytime, Attorneys and Diet Aids in the late afternoon, and "Romance" Chat Lines, and "Sex Enhancement" products in the over night hours.

Your question can be best summed up by a quote by Dr. Scholl, who founded the Dr. Scholl Foot Care company. When asked how to have a successful business, he said: "Early to bed, Early to rise, Work like hell, and advertise".

The profession is self perpetuating, it is even better than the Teamsters union. Self regulated, judges at the supreme court, and you would need a lawyer to sue for an injunction to stop the commercial. The PERFECT circle, also know as an A--H--E. Bleep Bleep.. don't want to get sued for deformation of character.

Many people are sue hungry... but if you notice a lot of the commercials are for people trying to get out of trouble, like a DUI. There is a lack of taking responsiblity for your actions with is just sad... There's one I love that starts out "Don't drink and drive. But if you do, you can call us."
There is also a ridiculous number of lawyers in the U.S., period. So many probably have to resort to cheesy commercials just to get clients.

Oh my goodness I know! Everytime I turn on the tv its all these commercials and their about either lawyers or diets. They drive me crazy. I dont know who all is actually using them though. Everyone I talk to is sick of them. Plus everyone gets all these ideas about the American public when really its a small majority.

Because the trial lawyers are a HUGE political lobby in the USA and most politicians are lawyers so.......they take care of their own.

hee hee .. love making fun of those commercials .. would you actually trust any of those guys!??!?!

I think it's because they CAN advertise and people are desperate for money .. so .. they sue at the drop of a hat.
