I have never heard of a girl being mistaken for a boy. That would be kind of hard to not determine it is a boy. Since they are looking for one part in that area. But it depends if your baby was being mean and not facing the right way for them... they could have just guessed so you would know what you are having.

My moms friend had a girl 3 years ago and she was told she was having a boy, she was so mad because the whole nursery was in pink and everything she baught was pink so she had to return everything she could and get boy stuff.
A friend of mine on a mom site just had a baby boy a few weeks ago and was told it was a girl but when she had her C-section and the baby came out the doc said it was a boy.
My brother was also said to be a girl, my mom found out in her last ultrasound that he was a boy and not a girl.

it's possible . . it depends on how early the ultrasound is done, and how develops the baby's reproductive organs are . . I know I was told by my doctor that if I was told that my baby was a girl, there's a possibility that it could be a boy (just because in early fetal development, boys and girls look alike) . . but if I was told that it is a boy, 9 times out of 10 it would be a boy (because if you see a ding-a-ling, it's not going away) LoL!! . . .

I knew someone that was told they were having a boy, but it ended up being a girl. They think that her hand was down there. The bad part was they had everything boy including personalized things with the boy name on everything! they had major returning to do lol

It can happen. The clitoris can be pronounced on a girl and possibly look like a boy on U/S. I lost a baby girl at 21 weeks and when she was born I had to ask the nurse if she was sure that she was a girl, because her's was so pronounced.

Anything can happen. It's all interpretation on the technician's part. I was told I was having a boy, then a girl, then a boy again. I didn't really believe what they told me anyway. I always felt I was having a boy, and a boy it was.
