My grandfather only has 1 child and that's my father. I was thinkin that If I ever get married I could let my father and my grandfather walk me down the isle because my grandfather didn't have any daughter to do that with.. And when My mother passed away when I was 4 my grandfather was there for me through out my whole life. He basicly raised me when I was younger. I just think it would be nice and like a thank you for being there all these years.. What do you think

I think it's a wonderful idea to have them both walk you down the aisle! Good for you, personalize that ceremony and make it yours!

Even if your grandfather's health fails and he's in a wheelchair, let him go down the aisle with you IF HE WANTS TO! If he doesn't, don't push it. Maybe he's in pain. Maybe he's worried that his knees will give out on him or that he'll need to make a run for the bathroom.

Old people have special needs so, if he's old when you get married, ask him but don't push him into it if he's not 100% comfortable with it.

However, if he's relatively young and in good health, there should be no problem. I would hope your father is supportive on this and doesn't feel like it's stealing the light from him because, after all, it's going to be YOUR special day and should make you happy.

so, have you found a likely husband yet? don't rush into anything because nothing would break your grandfather's heart more than to see his little girl go through an ugly divorce!

I think you'd be doing a very sweet thing for your grandfather. It would show him how much you love him. So don't let anybody tell you it's foolish because people should think about other peoples feeling and this world would be a better place.

That is so sweet. That is a good idea. It will show your grandfather you appreciate him being in your life and how much he means to you. Alot of people didn't even get to have grandparents there for them like that.

Go for it! I had my mom and my step-dad both walk me down. My friend had her step-dad walk her halfway and hand her off to her biological dad. My sister had her dad and step-dad walk her down. I'm sure your grandfather would be honored! If he decides he doesn't want to for whatever reason consider having a grandfather-bride dance at the reception.

It's your day and you can do whatever you want. It's a great idea to have both of them walk you down the isle if that is what you want!

Great!!!! I am pretty sure that he considers you as a daughter any way. And it sounds like your real father wasn't always there. I would let both of them walk me down the aisle. Whats wrong with that. We have guys marring guys and girls marring girls. So why not?
