Without formal training? A customer of mine told me that I should become one, but I don't need formal training? I am a cosmetician at the moment with some training, but mostly my instruction comes from my job and things I read, try and then recommend to my customers. Isn't there a liability if you are applying makeup on someone? I would like to broaden my career and increase my income. Thanks.

I forgot to add that when I suggest techniques to my customers, I have a very high success rate and very happy customers! :)

Of coarse! Be whatever you want to be! You might want to take some courses first, though, because that will add to your credibility as a makeup artist. Also, keep the job you have now until you are sure that being a make-up artist is what you really want to do. Good Luck!

Yes! I work with a line, Motives, and we have several people on our team who have no experience to people who have worked with Mac, Dijor, etc. I agree that being a cosmetician makeup goes hand and hand with that. Feel free to check out www.sagemotives.com and send me an email at savvyconcepts@comcast.net for more information!

Thanks!
