Now that all the spinach is bad how will Popeye keep his strength. Rumors have it that he cut off Olive Oil to keep his strength. Is it true??

If I recall, Popeye squeezed a can of spinach 'til the top popped off then downed it. No e-coli in cans, I guess, so he can go on foiling Bluto's attempts to romance Olive Oil.

Popeye, as you remember, only ate canned spinach. And only the fresh picked from California has the problem. So no worries, Popeye can continue to eat his canned spinach, Olive Oil will stay skinny, and Bluto will remain defeated. Now, I will gladly pay you next Thursday for a hamburger today.
Though state and federal officials have traced the current outbreak to a California company's fresh spinach, they haven't pinpointed the source of the bacteria that have killed one person and sickened at least 113 others. A second death was being investigated in the outbreak, which involves 21 states.

Contrary to other answers, I remember that in some few episodes Popeye ate spinach from a source different than cans. Therefore, he should be very carefully with the spinach he eats, maybe he should think in hidroponic spinach or something like that.

Um, I never saw the Popster grabbing spinach from the bag, dude--he always squeezed the can and chowed down.
Last I heard, no e.coli in the can, man.

No, he's OK. Spinach in a cann is not the culprit in this recent e.coli outbreak.
