Is Texas part of the South or part of the West?

Politically it's consider part of the Old South. It's so big that geographically it's considered a little of both South and North West.

I don't know what options you have for declaring a states position, but Texas is generally thought of as being in the Southwest, like are New Mexico and Arizona. Ft. Worth, Texas claims to be, "Where the West Begins."

South. I live in Texas and it is considered the south, there are just different parts of texas, like I live in the southeast part of Texas.
