I was thirteen, and just starting to take an interest in the music on Top Of The Pops, but didn't yet have a radio in my room to listen to.
The most memorable song I remember from 1973 was Imagine by John Lennon, but I also liked Suzi Quatro. As a Christmas treat for a couple of years we were asked what single we wanted from the charts, one year I got Apeman by The Kinks, and another year two singles had to be got because I wanted Sugar Sugar by The Archies whilst the rest of the family wanted Two Little Boys by Rolf Harris.
By Easter 1974 both my sister and I had started buying our own records (I think she might have bought Madam Cholet).

I was starting high school in 1973 and busy all those things teen-aged girls do when they're not a cheerleader and maybe a bit "different." I was dressing in white blouses and red mini-skirts for all home games because our school colors were red and white. All the girls were supposed to be part of the "Pep Club" and wear the school colors all day at school then go to the games. I was discovering literature thanks to Alma Maddox, the best English teacher that I ever had, and enjoying creative writing thanks to Mr. Hudson. I was worrying about my weight and wondering if it was true that guys don't like smart girls.

I wasn't watching the wombles, LOL, so sorry to disappoint. Geez, I don't think I was even watching Star Trek reruns because, at that point, it was cancelled and I don't think any of my local stations showed the reruns. Ah, but I do remember STARSKY AND HUTCH! Woo-hoo! Weren't they on then?

Let's see...I was 17, a senior in a Catholic High School in CT.; Had a boyfriend named Twig for a while; listening to Alice Cooper, "Smoke on the Water", Blue Oyster Cult....going out on the boat; partying at bars: Gulliver's, Little Dicks, Sandy's (at that time if you looked 18 they wouldn't card you); Oh, I lost my virginity at 16 and the stupid song that was playing while it happened was "My Elusive Butterfly"! Good times...
