If you apply a little purple or plum to area above eye lid and a little on lower eye, it is supposed to entensify the green. I have green eyes and I ususally wear browns and golds and sometimes charcoal grey.

purple tones....doesn't have to be dark, you can go with light shades so you don't feel overdone. I have hazel green eyes and I wore those colors forever. Every time I tried something else I didn't like it. Right now I've gone to pinks with a little brown, but that's because I'm trying to go for a more natural look. Also, I'm getting gray and the darker tones don't work for me anymore. I always brushed a little blush across my eyelids and then put the shadow in the crease of my eye and wherever else I want it. Experiment.

it depends on your eye's undertones (warmth or coolness of a color), eyes are rarely one color. Usually they are combined of two or even three colors.
warm tones are red, orange, and yellow... cool tones are blue, green, and violet.
ie: green gray, green w/ blue gray, hazel w/ brownish overtones to yellow green.
It just depends, but I can tell you this:
There are no set rules for selection of eye makeup colors except that they should enhance your eyes.
Eye shadow complements the eyes by making them appear brighter and mor expressive.
Eye shadows can match the color or the eyes or be lighter or darker.
Generally, a darker shade of eye color makes the natural color of the iris appear lighter, and the lighter shade makes the iris appear deeper.
so in conclusion it doesn't really matter the color, just whether it's lime green of forest green, hot pink or fuschia, the tones in your eyes, skin and the color of your hair should tell you what suits you best.
You should try to go for a makeup consultation at a full service salon or even a beauty counter or store.
Hope this info helps

Lavender is a really great color for almost any eye color but it really makes green eyes stand out. Or Almay has sets of products depending on eye color.

earth tones..browns and greens. green really brings out the color of my eyes. it depends alot on your hair color because if you are redheaded then you don't need to use many pinks because they will make you look washed out.

try the virtual make over by Mary Kay. Models might be older looking but the skin tone and eye tone is what you really need to compare yourself to. http://marykay.com/sthrasher4
