This is from Seventeen magazine October 2006.

1. Makeup - Opaque primary colors like blue and red can look very harsh on film. Stick to sheer neutral shades--they'll enhance your features without overpowering your face.
2. Smile - Before picture day, practice your photo face by having a friend take digital pictures (you'll see if you get squinty if you smile too big, ect.). When it's picture time, think funny thoughts so your smile will look genuine and natural.
3. Hair - You'll regret anything super-trendy in a few years, so keep your hairstyle classic. Try a simple blow-dry with a slightly off-center part--it's a timeless look that also flatters and nicely frames any face shape.
4. Skin - Photo lights exaggerate shine. Use a little matte-finish foundation to get an even, shine-free complexion. Apply just a dab to your T-zone, to undereyes, and on zits.

I think the best idea is wear what you would wear on any typical day. That way when you look back on the picture years from now you would get a good reminder of a typical day at school and not just a reminder of one day when you dressed up did your hair different, etc.

Just wear your hair down, my hair usually looks best if i wash it the day before, put in a leave in conditioner and let it dry before i go to bed (wavy hair) No frizz or poof once i comb it in the morning, i don't know why. If you're going to wear makeup go natural and light, no lipstick, just lip gloss. You don't want to look like a whore, just like yourself. As for the clothes, go for something with an all over print or a plain color, no words or pictures on the front this doesn't look very good in photographs.

well, because normally, it is just your upper body, wear a little bit of make-up and just wear your hair down, which is what most people do. also, don't try to do anything way too fancy or something that isn't really that normal for you to wear because remember, everyone is going to be looking at it, and you want them to remember you as your normal self, not your fake picture day look.

Your avatar looks great! Do something that is totally you and that you would wear again. Dont just wear it on picture day because no one will know it was you. Do something cute yet not baby prostitute. Just remember the most important thing you can wear you any day is your smile!

I would keep make-up to minimum, maybe lip-gloss, bronzer and mascara. As for wardrobe, you can never go wrong with a dark blouse or sweater. Avoid light colors ie; white, beige etc. And "SMILE"! XOXO Moon

Keep your hair down, and don't wear much jewelry or make-up. Wear solid colored shirts.
