I don't know about anyone else but who gives a s***. He is a musician and this is understandable. Sure, it was 1 1/2 pounds and a little shrooms, but I say, Go Willy!

it would be so nice if everyone got off with a minor citation and sent on their merry way.
as luck would have it, willie and co. did not receive preferential treatment, the parish jail was full.
willie had just finished campaigning for a prospective texas governor, and threw in a measure of legalization while he was on the stump!
yeah wilile!

It's illegal and it doesn't matter who has it, Willie Nelson doesn't deserve special treatment solely because of who he is.

However, in this particular instance I think the law is wrong. Marijuana is no more or less dangerous than alcohol or smoking. If those two are legal, marijuana should be also. If we choose to partake of it as long as we do it in moderation and responsibly (just like smoking/alcohol) then I say what is the difference. So I agree he shouldn't have been punished, but not because of who he is but because what he did isn't any worse than other things that are legal (and from what I've seen Mr. Nelson does it very responsibly in that he doesn't drive or operate heavy machinery and the like while high).

Arresting Willie Nelson for smoking pot is like arresting Nelson Mandela, for engaging in a starvation strike. The law enforcement officers are in simple terms smearing their own popularity greater suitable than they have already got, and Willie is going to be smoking pot back as quickly as he's bailed out of penitentiary. The law enforcement officers appear as if stupid dorks and Willie sounds like a grass roots martyr. He would not have self belief he's doing something incorrect and neither do I. Waste of the taxpayer's money. Please, go stumble on a terrorist and do us a want.

I personally think that the majority of people smoke, period- occasionally or regularly. Willie can keep on smoking and taking long, strange trips! Yes sir officer, it's for medicinal purposes only!
