Go see a doctor. There probably isn't many doctors on this site, and all you're going to get in the end is stupid answers from smart asses like myself.

I know you can get them alot if you masturbate or have sex often because you are pushing germs and maybe things that shouldn't be in that area up there and it just causes an infection. You should always make sure whatever is inserted in the vagina is clean...toys or penis...make him wash it even if he doesn't want to because he isn't the one that has to deal with a horrible track infection for days. You should also try to urinate afterwards which may help clean you kidney track. As far as I know it is common in woman and you can go to the doctor for anitbiotics that last a week or so. For a quick fix you can drink cranberry juice and alot of it or you can buy cranberry tablets and take them over time and that might help to prevent future UTI'S.

Sounds as if the antibiotics you were given are not strong enough. Call your doctor or provider ask him/her for something stronger--talk to the nurse or the doc. They should be able to call you something in for the infection and in the meantime drink lots of water and cranberry juice, not the mixed cranberry juice, just straight 100% cranberry juice or if you can go to a vitamin store and ask for cranberry pills--those are concentrated and will help a lot faster. A warm compress might help with the discomfort associated with the UTI. If they didn't prescribed you Bactrum DS I would ask for that this time.

Drink lots of fluids and make sure to call and ask the doctor or nurse for something else, they might ask you to come in and be seen again but that is just make sure they help you out.

Hang in there and Good Luck!

Got to a health food store and get cranberry concentrate. Mix 8 oz with 1 gallon of water. Drink an 8 oz glass 20 min. before all three meals each day. This should help considerably.

My Dads Urologist had him do this for his kidney stones and kidney infection. The acid in cranberries help heal the infection.

Did you take all your antibiotics? Even after you feel better you should still take all the pills you were prescribed. That way, the infection will be 100% out of your system.

Something like 80% of women who get them have a repeat one within 1 year...could be you just need a stronger antibiotic to kill it off. I had back to back ones and was prescribed Cipro and that killed it. Of course, I am no doctor.

Make sure you aren't taking tub baths and are urinating when the urge strikes.

Have you seen a doctor? He/she will be able to test a sample of urine for pus and bacteria and will give you some antibiotics to clear it up. If this hasn't worked more tests will be required. But, honestly, the best person to speak to would be your GP, as they are qualified to deal with health issues. Hope you sort it out.

Need to see a urologist to get to the bottom! I'm sure there are many reasons and the lay people will not be of much help to you.
