both accept the same type of ram (ie SDRAM, DDR RAM) and at the same speed, 99% it will work.
Check you computer manual for what type it will accept and check the memory maker's website for a list of supported computer systems.
Even mixing ram of the same type and speed, but from different makers can cause problems.

There are different kinds of RAM. Most commonly in computers 3 or more years old is SD RAM. So if the computers are close to the same age, then yes, you MIGHT be able to switch RAM.
RAM strips come with little slots in the edges and little clips on the sides of the slots. Make sure to line up the slots when you are installing RAM. It will only fit one way. DON'T force it. It should fit snugly with just a minimum amount of pressure and the clips should close by itself as you push the RAM into the slot. If it doesn't fit, or looks totally different than what is already in the computer, it is likely that you have different kinds of RAM.

Yes. It has to be the same kind if you are adding more ram. If this is old ram - more than 3 years, dont bother. Ram is cheap now. Try
surpluscomputers.com or yahoo shopping.
