You will only have to wear it one time cause after it fades through to your forehear you won't need a headband anylonger. you will have a green band around your head!

I really don't know, sweetie..that's why I didn't answer the first time. I would imagine that it would stick (the dye, that is) but if you need to wear the head band for a special occasion, I'd try the food coloring and wash it the first time alone, or hand wash it in the sink. That way nothing else gets the coloring on it. Now, if you want to keep the green color from wash to wash, I would try soaking the headband in vinegar first. My mom soaks all her embroidery thread in vinegar before she uses them so that they don't loose color, especially if they will be used on clothes. Good luck.....

It will temporarily hold the color for you but will eventually wash out. Don't wash it with anything else when you do or all of that clothing will end up stained as well. Also if you want a really strong color don't use too much water.

if the damn headband is made of cloth then NO it will not wash out. if the headband is made of resin then it will probably wash out but still not all the way. it will be slightly stained. food dye does not wash out. it dyes perm.

It will probably only mostly wash out. The food coloring will leave faint stains (probably blotchy), but not a good solid color your looking for.

I like to food color my cat on 4th of july in the red white and blue stripes... It eventually goes back to normal but I think it might run all over your face when you sweat. Be careful with this one.

You can try Rit dye remover(you can get it at Wal-mart)but if that doesn't work you have a new green headband!

Add salt to the coloring in the water this should help it bond to the fabric. Hope it helps.

Didn't you just ask this question earlier? You said you don't have time to buy clothing dye so why are you wasting time on this site?
